Gabriel High and Dry Following Hurricane KatrinaThe owners and staff at Gabriel wish to express our deepest sympathies to those who suffered losses in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. This is a challenging time for all of us who love the New Orleans area, and we are certain that our wonderful city will come back stronger than ever. We are pleased that Gabriel and its residents suffered little damage from the high winds and water brought in by the storm. Our front gate and visitor center had minor roof damage, but the streets of the development remained dry despite the flood waters that damaged so many homes in north Kenner. According to Lynda Nugent Smith, Sales Manager of Gabriel, "The developers took into account the potential for flooding from both hurricanes as well as the occasional extra heavy rainfalls our area experiences in the Spring. To that end, Gabriel is elevated and has state-of-the-art underground drainage. We feel that this foresight saved our residents the pain and expense of replacing flooring, furniture and wall coverings." Ms. Smith continued, "In our gated, guarded development, we still have deluxe lots for sale as well as three luxurious townhomes and two single family homes nearing completion. Please call on us any time for more information. You will see that there is much more to the Gabriel lifestyle than unflooded property. It's a great place to live!" Gabriel Townhomes Nearing CompletionThird Unit Sales, LLC, an affiliate of Favrot and Shane, released details, pricing and floorplans on the first three of thirty-eight townhomes the company is constructing along the western edge of Gabriel. The first three townhomes feature:
Third Unit Sales, LLC, built four three-bedroom "Island Homes" near the southwest corner of the property, and those sold out almost immediately after they went on the market. According to James Favrot of Third Unit, "Our previous project at Gabriel, the Island Homes, was a great success. We were impressed by the cooperation of all the Gabriel family and neighbors and by the overwhelming response we received from our efforts." He continued, "Now we have another product, one that people have been asking about. We can't wait to have these townhomes constructed and lived in by families who will enjoy all that Gabriel offers." Please contact our sales team for more details. Gabriel Donates to Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation
Bryan and Vickie Krantz, developers of Gabriel, recently contributed significant funds to the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation (LPBF). This is another demonstration of Gabriel's commitment to continued progress in the water quality and good health of the lake. Mr. Krantz noted, "Over the past several years, everyone who lives around Lake Pontchartrain has benefited from the Lake's improved condition. We at Gabriel are determined to be good neighbors to that environment." The LPBF was represented by its Executive Director, Carlton Dufrechou, who stated: "We are most appreciative of the consideration and support from the Gabriel community. What is being developed here is a model for how development and conservation can work together. The Krantz family and the extended Gabriel family are good friends of Lake Pontchartrain and the LPBF. Thank you." We at Gabriel encourage our lot owners and neighbors throughout Metro New Orleans to aid the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation in its splendid work. For more information on the LPBF, please visit its Web site. Gabriel Announces the Sale of 43 LotsGabriel Homes is pleased to announce the sale of 43 lots on the western side of the development to Third Unit Sales, LLC, an affiliate of Favrot & Shane Companies, Inc.
Further plans include the construction of 38 deluxe townhomes along the western boundary of Gabriel. These homes will feature both one and two story units and average 1,800 square feet. Since the design work is in progress, pricing is not complete at this time. We do expect brisk sales based on inquiries so far. The sales office is open daily from 1 pm until 5 pm or other times by appointment. Gabriel Marina Project Is On-TrackGabriel's planned yachting resort will offer South Shore residents a long awaited recreational facility that will be second to none on the Gulf Coast. Featuring 330 boat slips, 40 boathouses, a yacht club and luxury hotel, the projected marina will be built directly across the Lake Pontchartrain Levee from Gabriel. It will be accessible by private road for residents of the development and from the public Laketown area of Kenner. Home owners in Gabriel will be given top priority on reserving slips, and any additional slots will be available to Kenner residents. While the marina project must still gain approval from several governmental agencies, so far it's found clear sailing. Many local public officials have expressed enthusiastic support, and the Gabriel team is determined to take care that no adverse environmental effects are caused by the development. Please contact our sales office for more details. Soil Report and Phase One Environmental Report AvailableWhen you are ready to build in Gabriel, come by our Information Center for a Soil Report and Phase One Environmental Report. These are useful for foundation designs and are required by some lending institutions. High Quality Rendering of Gabriel
Gabriel is pleased to present a rendering of the development as we envision it in the not too distant future. The Gulf South has never before seen a residential property like Gabriel, so we asked our artist to capture some of the magic we are weaving. He has succeeded. We hope that our future neighbors will enjoy this view of our neighborhood to come and will share it with family and friends. There is a lot of excitement ahead for all of us! From the high, overhead perspective, note the parks, the green space and fully mature, lush, tropical plant life that will be in place even as the first homes are being built. The artwork can be downloaded for viewing on a monitor (file size 91k), or alternatively, as a large (212k) but high quality Adobe Acrobat file that will produce a great printout. When printing, be sure to specify "Landscape Orientation" and "Fit to Page." The Living Paradise in Metro
